Datacenter Engineer

Location:  Boston, MA

We are adding a Datacenter Engineer to our growing team!  The successful candidate will be an integral part of a collaborative team that executes Storage networks (SAN/NAS) iSCSI, Fiber and IP network, switch zoning, DellEMC and Pure Storage; virtualization is also involved.  Some responsibilities will include building and maintaining ESXi hosts, maintaining VMware vCloud infrastructure, and providing technical support to our clients.

Some Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Design and architect data storage and backup solutions
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Virtualization, Storage arrays, and networking (L2)
  • Experience with storage connectivity via zoning and iSCSI
  • Set up create Volumes/LUNs, configure servers (Win/Linux)
  • Install backup software.  Configure software for remote data replication, load balancing and high availability failover
  • Interface directly with customers to design and implement solutions
  • Create supporting documentation, help manuals and how-to guides

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts in a simple and straightforward manner
  • Experience with VMware ESX and MS Hyper-V
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers & Desktops and all common server and workstation applications
  • Experience deploying VMware integration and extension services components
  • Experience with storage solutions experience (Dell EMC, Pure, NetApp, VMware, Nutanix)
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems by analyzing the problem and applying a methodology to resolve the problem

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a datacenter environment
  • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Certificates in current systems and software in use (e.g., Microsoft Office, Cisco Network Systems, VMware, and diverse networking environments such as Dell and HP)
