Nicholas S.
Help Desk IT Supervisor
Originally from New York, Nick moved to Massachusetts to work on his Associates degree in Information Technology. Having earned his Associates Degree, Nick is now working on his Bachelor’s degree in the same major study at UMass Lowell. Nick brings a strong IT background to Focus Technology. His interests, however are not limited to this topic.
In addition to a general passion for computer technology, Nick enjoys learning of all sorts, from language to philosophy to nature, there are very few subjects that are of no interest to him. Nick intends to continue his understanding of systems administration and plans to structure his career around this field and expanding his role at Focus to include field services and other responsibilities.
Although Nick is proud of his strong understanding of information technology, he does not necessarily consider himself to be the average IT professional. Nick uses his wide range of interests to bring a new lens to problem solving and client interactions. He recognizes one of the challenges of working virtually with clients as being the inability to see the problem first-hand. A lot of questions have to be asked so that the true obstacle between the client and their intentions is understood and a solution can be discovered. Nick makes sure to ask every important question and applies the knowledge that he acquires from each client interaction to the next.
Joining us in June 2015, Nick is a valued member of our team. Just as he explores each client’s problem through engagement and thorough investigation, Nick encourages the average computer user to do the same. He suggests that a user explore the circumstances of their problem in order to understand the solution. When he is off duty, he hopes that clients and all users alike ask themselves the same questions that they would ask him and use the Internet as a resource to have these questions answered.
